Tongue:
Install the 9 tongue wire and grommet in the tongue.
Install the tongue into the nose cone of the trailer frame.
Secure the tongue plate cover (Ref.#4) and the rear of the
tongue with a 1/2 X 1-1/2 hex bolt, 1/2 flat washer and
1/2 hex lock nut. Secure the tongue into the side of the
frame tongue cap using a 1/2 X 4 hex bolt and 1/2 flange
lock nut. Tighten both bolts. Install the coupler on the
tongue and secure with one (1) 1/2 X 4 and two (2) 1/2 X
1 hex bolts. Tighten using 1/2 flange lock nuts. Do not
overtighten.
Safety Chains:
Install the two (2) safety chains (Ref.#28) - one on each
side of the tongue (front bottom hole location) - using a 3/
8 X 1-1/4, 3/8 flat washer, chain and 3/8 flat washer
through the tongue tube and secure on the inside of the
tongue tube using a 3/8 flange lock nut.
Winch Post:
Mount the bottom of the winch post weldment to the
pontoon tongue in a location that best fits your pontoon
using two (2) 1/2 X 3-9/16 X 6 square u-bolts. Secure
with 1/2 flange lock nuts.
Mount the top of the winch post weldment to the bottom
winch post weldment using two (2) 1/2 X 4 hex bolts and
secure with two (2) 1/2 flange lock nuts.
Mount the handrail to the bottom of the winch post
weldment and secure to the top winch post weldment
using two (2) 3/8 X 1-3/4 hex bolts and two (2) 3/8 flange
lock nuts. Refer to the parts drawing for placement.
Bunk:
Install the 12 bunks on the trailer with approximately 10
inches extending beyond the rear bunk saddle. Secure the
bunk to the bunk saddle with 1/4 X 1-1/2 lag screws.
Assembly should be complete except for tightening
some of the bolts. These bolts were left loose to aid in
adjusting the trailer to the boat only. All bolts and nuts
must be tightened before towing.
NOTE: The law requires that the white ground wire on
both the tongue wire harness and vehicle harness be
properly grounded to the respective trailer and vehicle
frames.
Trailer Adjustments
Measure the centerline of the pontoon and adjust the
bunks laterally to match the pontoon centerline. Set all the
bunk saddles to the same measurement and tighten with
32/8 X 1 adjustment bolts.
Place the boat on the trailer so the rear of the pontoon is
flush with the end of the bunk. Do not allow the pontoon
tubes to extend beyond the bunk support.
Slide the winch post into position on the tongue.
Adjust the under-carriage fore and aft for proper tongue
weight.
NOTE: Double-check all fastenersto ensure they are
properly tightened.
