mounting holes line up. Locate the wire harness. Unwind and insert the end with the two plugs that
mate with the frame harness into the hole and route out the rear of the tongue. Place a rubber
grommet around the wire in the hole on top of the tongue.
SIDE MARKER LIGHTS FOR TONGUE
Note: When installing the tongue in the trailer, the side marker lights will have to be mounted to the
tongue. They are shipped in a bag that is attached to the frame. Insert the wire harness from the side
marker light into the larger hole in the side of the tongue, then route the wire harness to the rear of the
tongue. Attach the light in position using the No. 10 x 3/4” self-tapping screws provided. Plug the side
marker light into one of the single plugs located at the rear of the tongue harness. Repeat on the other
side marker light.
Secure the tongue into the frame by placing a 1/2” x 4 1/4” cross bolt in the front of the tongue channel.
Insert a 1/2" x 4 1/4" into the rear channel. Secure both mounting bolts with 1/2" flange lock nuts. Feed
the wire harness out thru the wiring holes just behind the first tongue channel. Tighten.
Plug the tongue wire harness ends into the frame harnesses by matching colors and ends. Push the
excess wire either into the side of the tongue or else remove the grommet in the side frame and place
the excess wire in the side frame. Replace grommet just removed.
HITCH COUPLER
Locate the hitch coupler. Drop it into position on the front of the tongue. Secure it to the tongue using a
1/2” x 4” hex bolt through the rear mounting hole of the coupler housing. Insert completely through the
tongue, then secure in place with a 1/2” flange lock nut.
Attach the front of the coupler to the tongue using two- 1/2” x l” hex bolts. Insert the bolt through one
side of the coupler housing and the tongue. Secure inside the tongue using a 1/2” flange lock nut.
Repeat this process on the other side of the tongue. Tighten all attaching bolts securely.
SAFETY CHAINS
Insert a 3/8” x 1 1/4” hex bolt through a 3/8” flat washer and then into the end link of one safety chain.
Insert the bolt into the front bottom hole punched in the tongue. Place another 3/8” flat washer on the
bolt and secure with a 3/8” flange lock nut. Tighten.
Repeat this process on the other safety chain.
SPRINGS
Position the axle so it is properly aligned with the trailer. Place the springs on the topside of the spring
pads welded to the axle. Note that the eye end of the spring must be mounted to the front of the trailer.
Next place the 3/8” x 2 3/16” x 2” U-bolts down over the top of the spring and axle as shown.
Secure in place with 3/8” flange lock nuts. Thread onto the U-bolts but do not tighten securely until the
complete unit is in position on the trailer. Repeat on the other spring.
AXLE
Place one of the spring bracket bushings into the rear of the spring bracket and secure with a 9/16” x 3
1/4” hex bolt and 9/16” hex lock nut. Repeat in other spring bracket. Position the axle under the frame,
then slide the slipper of the spring over the bushings just installed.
